Creative practice and flood disasters across cultures
Aim: These workshops aim to explore the socio-cultural knowledge related to flooding. The workshops will take place over two days: the first day exploring intracultural knowledge (i.e. - within a culture), and the second focusing on intercultural insights (i.e. - between different cultures) 1 The goal is for participants to develop creative responses to stories of flooding that might be able to express insights, associations, emotions or ideas about flooding that do not fit so easily into quantitative data. The findings from these workshops will be included in a publication. The aim is not to produce ‘masterpiece’ artworks, or to teach you how to draw or paint: instead, the workshops give an opportunity to present ideas, sketch concepts, and experiment. There is no wrong answer: every response is valid.
